The USA Men’s National Basketball Team concluded the USA Basketball Showcase in London, UK with mixed results as they gear up for the challenge of the Paris Olympics.
Team USA narrowly edged past South Sudan 101-100, with Marial Shayok’s exceptional shooting from long range posing a significant threat. Against Germany, the reigning FIBA World Cup champions, Team USA faced a tough battle but ultimately prevailed, thanks in large part to the efforts of 39-year-old LeBron James, who played a pivotal role in securing both victories. James delivered crucial plays including a game-winning layup against South Sudan and an impactful fourth-quarter performance against Germany, where he scored 11 points to secure the win amidst strong opposition led by Dennis Schroder.
Meanwhile, the USA Women’s Basketball Team also claimed victory against Germany in their own exhibition game, driven by standout performances from WNBA MVP contenders A’Ja Wilson and Breanna Stewart.
Both the Men’s and Women’s Basketball teams will now shift their focus to Paris, where they aim to begin their respective Olympic campaigns and pursue gold at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
